More MTC - Day 4

February 16, 2013
I sent a letter yesterday, so I'm just going to write a few things I left out in the letter! (I wasn't sure if we were going to b eable to email this week, that's why a letter).

I am senior companion! We switch every 2 weeks, though, since we all arrived the same day. Most of my responsibilities are mostly just making sure things get done and reporting every week.

I've seen so many people that I know! It's crazy! I've seen people from Mountain Crest High, Hurricane High, and SUU! Mis companeras wonder how I know so many people!

Yesterday, we had even more Spanish! 3 hours in the morning, 1 hour personal language study, then 3 more hours right before bed! It's crazy, but I'm already having conversations (Very basic, mind you, and broken, but conversations nonetheless)! *Also, it was hard for me to type "conversations" because my mind is already thinking en espanol! I had to think about it and slow down!* We taught our first lesson to our "investigator" yesterday all en espanol. It wasn't that bad, actually! I understood almost all of what was going on, but then again, not really haha! The Spirit was definitely helping me so much already.

It's so nice to not have to worry about school or work or rent or boys! I love just being able to focus on the Spirit here.

Well, I love you all! Send me lots of letters, I would love to hear from you. My P-day next week and from here on out at the MTC will be Friday.

Oh yeah... yesterday, on of the hermanas had a huge stack of letters for our room, and NONE of it was for me! Sad hahaha but oh well. It doesn't matter...right?? ;)

First Day @ the MTC

Thursday, February 14, 2013

Buenos dias!

My oh my, the MTC is CRAZY!  I love it here.  Everyone is so nice and welcoming. The days don't seem very long either...until you sit in the same classroom for 4 hours straight of Spanish!  And my teacher ONLY speaks Spanish.  It's a bit overwhelming, but actually fun as well (then we had 1 more hour of additional language study).

My first companion was Hermana Brewster, however, she was supposed to be in advanced Spanish (she had 2 semesters of Spanish, and studied abroad in Espana!), so they switched her today, and my new companeras (I'm in a trio) are Hermana Smith y Herman Severtson.  Al of us (including Hermana Brewster) are going to Antofagasta.  The other companionship in our room are going to Chile as well, but to Santigo North.  Oh, and Hermana Brewster changed rooms, FYI, that's why I'm in a trio, because everything switched for her, even schedule!

Well, it's lights out soon!  Love to all!

Hasta Luego,

Hermana Howell
